Speakers Jingzhou Tao

Professor Tao is an independent arbitrator at Arbitration Chambers.

Prior to full-time arbitrator, Professor Tao had a long career in international law firms, including: Managing Partner of China Practice and member of the International Executive Board of Coudert Brothers (1991-2005), China Managing Partner of DLA Piper (2005-2007), Senior Partner of Jones Day (2007-2011), Managing Partner of Dechert China (2011-2020).

Professor Tao is a member of International Commercial Expert Committee of Chinese Supreme Court (since August 2018), a member of the Advisory Committee of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), of the International Advisory Board of Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), of the Executive Board of Foundation International for Arbitration Advocacy, of the Editorial Board of Global Arbitration Review (GAR). He is a specially-invited professor of law for LLM Program of the International Dispute Resolution at Tsinghua University School of Law.

Professor Tao received his LLB from Peking University and DEA from l’Universite de Paris (Pantheon-Sorbonne). He is an Avocat a la Cour de Paris.

Professor Tao published several books in English and French, including Arbitration Law and Practice in China (Third Edition), Kluwer, 2012.
