Speakers Humphrey Glennie

Humphrey Glennie is general counsel for Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR), the largest railway owner/operator in the Middle East. A disputes lawyer by training, Humphrey has been admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. Humphrey leads a team of 15 lawyers and professional staff at SAR, and they work on a wide variety of government and commercial matters and disputes. 

Notable achievements for Humphrey at SAR are: 

  • Leading the legal aspects of the successful merger/integration of Saudi Railways Organization (SRO) into SAR in 2021. 
  • Acting as project counsel for the KSA Government and SAR at the Haramain High Speed Rail Project connecting the Holy Cities of Makkah and Madinah. 
  • Leading the negotiations for SAR in relation to the Dream of the Desert luxury rail project to be launched in 2026.
