Speakers Gregory Vijayendran SC

Mr Gregory Vijayendran SC’s present practice focusses on litigation, arbitration and mediation of civil, commercial and chancery disputes. He has been consistently recognized as an expert in corporate insolvency and charities governance. This year, the Law Society conferred its inaugural Practice Excellence Awards (based on peer recognition) to Gregory for Civil Litigation – Advocacy. This follows on the heels of being conferred a Merit Award by the Singapore Academy of Law in 2024.

 

Gregory graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1992, was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1993 and is practising at Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP. Gregory was appointed Senior Counsel in 2019.

Gregory  is the longest serving President of the Law Society from 2017 to 2019. He is a Fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Singapore, the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and the Singapore Institute of Directors.

 

A trained and experienced mediator, Gregory serves on SIMC’s panel of Specialist Mediators. He has been involved in numerous high value cross-border disputes under the auspices of SIMC including the landmark inaugural co-mediation of the first case under the JIMC-SIMC Protocol. He also served as the moderator for a plenary session at the historic India-Singapore Mediation Summit in 2021.
