Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (Shanghai International Arbitration Center, hereinafter referred to as “SHIAC”), was judicially registered and established in 1988 with the official approval of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. SHIAC is an international commercial arbitration institution providing independent, fair, professional, and efficient dispute resolution services for various domestic and foreign commercial participants. Commercial entities and individuals from 85 countries and regions around the globe have participated in SHIAC’s arbitral proceedings and SHIAC’s arbitral awards have been well recognized and enforced in over 50 jurisdictions in accordance with the New York Convention.
SHIAC has always been adhering to its development goal of being international and professional and exploring commercial disputes resolution services in various fields and geographical regions. Currently, SHIAC has successively established the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Court of Arbitration, the Shanghai International Aviation Court of Arbitration, the BRICS Dispute Resolution Center Shanghai, the China-Africa Joint Arbitration Center Shanghai, the Asset and Equity Exchange Arbitration Center and the Data Arbitration Center.
