This session offers participants an in-depth exploration of investigative practice and the science of crime, through a structured examination of the professional skills required to handle criminal cases—from the initial stage of suspicion through to the establishment of truth. Drawing on extensive experience in criminal investigation, law enforcement procedures, and litigation, the speaker will shed light on contemporary methods of crime detection and the challenges inherent in complex criminal cases. The session aims to equip participants with a clear and informed understanding of how the criminal justice system operates, and of the investigator’s pivotal role in the administration of justice.
